Morning Leaders. Sometimes it is not about “doing” things. Sometimes it’s just about showing up and “being” there. No, this doesn’t mean be on your phone. This means being actively present even if you have no activity or words to say. #Presence

The Art of Spiritual Conversations
In a recent interview with The Barna Group, Mary Schaller of Q Place provided excellent insight into our present western culture and the skill that is needed for artful spiritual conversations. Her focus is engagement first over any other agenda. “If you have not taken the time to get to know me, why do you think I’ll go to church with you?”
Ms. Schaller rightly points out there are many people who “really aren’t interested in going outside of their comfort zone to a church setting where they will simply listen to a presentation that isn’t likely to give them the opportunity to work through their own spiritual questions.” Her recommendation (which I embrace wholeheartedly) is to create safe spaces for real talk, real questions, and real community. It is when people see you actually care for them that spiritual conversations will have profoundness and deeper resonance in their spiritual journey.
Please read the interview here and tell me what you think.
Morning Leaders – Stepping Out
Morning Leaders. Sometimes things won’t happen until you first step out, and then doors open up to help make it happen. #BelieveThat
Morning Leaders – Be Careful
Morning Leaders. Faithfulness DOES NOT ALWAYS EQUAL Readiness. Be careful who you elevate in Leadership. It may be convenient for you because they are always available, but it may be extremely detrimental to that new leader. #EyesWideOpen #BurnoutSetup
Racist Baseball Fans Super Angry Marc Anthony Sang “God Bless America”
Welcome to America!
This has got to be the most foolish thing I have seen this week. Good thing these uninformed clowns have no shame in shaming themselves.
These baseball fans were offended that a “mexican”/”not-american”/”spanish” guy sang “God Bless America” at the beginning of the All Star Game. Actually Marc Anthony was born in New York City and he is of Puerto Rican descent. And so am I.
I wish I did not have to explain by showing their racist remarks but you will not really feel what I am saying unless you see it yourself. Check the blog post here.
Malala & The Taliban
The Taliban decided to give a reason why shooting Malala Yousufzai was an “accident”. They did not target her because she championed girls’ education but because she was running an anti-Taliban “smear campaign”.
So an organization such as the Taliban bombs schools, murders teachers, shoots 15 year old girls, and expects the world to side with them and their desire for an Islamic system?
Hmmm, sounds a little strange to me.

Morning Leaders – Work Ethic
Morning Leaders. “The pen is not really the weapon. The work ethic is the weapon” – Lemon Andersen // You may not be the most talented. You may not be the most experienced. But an amazing work ethic will take you way beyond those who are more talented and more experienced than you are. #Focused #Discipline
Questlove & Trayvon Martin
I read this amazing article by Questlove on the New York Magazine website regarding Trayvon Martin and the Zimmerman trial. If you have not read it yet, I encourage you to experience it here.
Morning Leaders – Compassion
Morning Leaders. Even the best of us does the most foolish of things. Do we extend to others the same grace we extend to ourselves? #Compassion
Morning Leaders – Inspiration
Morning Leaders. People are looking towards us for inspiration and encouragement. Let us be the best representation we can be for them and for the world. #Focused
